About the Workshop
In order to protect ourselves in what we, as women, often experience as a hostile environment, many of us have developed all kinds of defensive barriers. Building and maintaining these walls, however, comes at a cost, for not only do we protect ourselves from others, we cut ourselves off from our deepest, truest selves. We lose touch with our senses, our sexuality and our spirituality. We have experienced pain caused by neglect, from unwanted attention, and/or from abuse. Messages such as “you’re too sensitive” or “this is all your fault” have led us to believe something is wrong with us, rather than that something was wrong with the world in which we live and our oppressor(s). Through Bioenergetic work - including morning exercise classes, individual sessions (as time allows) and group processes we will focus on re-awakening our senses, claiming our right to our sexual feelings, and celebrating our spirituality.
The weekend will include a fire circle on Sat evening (weather permitting) and creating an on site labyrinth to guide us on our journey of healing and love.
